Shyam Lamichhane is the Head of Remittances for Citizens Bank International Ltd in Nepal since 2014. Citizens Bank has developed Citizens Remit, a premium online customer focused and technology oriented Money Transfer product; this web-based money transfer system is used by many companies and institutions worldwide.

His main responsibility is to be the correspond liaison with international money transfer companies and financial institutions as well as domestic remittance companies for the expansion of Citizens’ footprint. Previous to this, Shyam was in the Remittance Department of Yeti Development Bank Limited after being promoted, first in 2011 and in 2013; he was at Yeti for more than 5 years after moving from Kumari Bank Limited where he started his career in Banking.

Shyam studied in the Hetauda School of Management and then went on to Peoples College where he got his MBS in Finance in 2008. He is fluent in Nepali and English and is able to communicate in Hindi. He is the President of the Kathmandu Toastmasters Club and in 2010 he published A Study on Capital Adequacy of Commercial Banks of Nepal. His consistent commitment and involvement in the workplace as well as his ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds have helped him to excel at his job.
