Padmanabhan Markandan (Paddy) has been associated with Xpress Money and driving the region’s business for over a year.  In the capacity of Regional Vice President- Americas, Paddy is primarily responsible for strategy and alliances in the region that aid in business development and growth.

With 28 years of rich experience in the banking and finance industry, Paddy is known for his domain expertise, business acumen and operational excellence. Prior to joining Xpress Money, Paddy was with Credit Suisse on the private banking side dealing with a wide spectrum of individual and institutional   investors.

Paddy started his career with Reserve Bank of India in 1987 and then moved to UTI as a Staff Officer a year later. His exposure to operations, marketing, business process engineering and Corporate Communications included dealing with regulators and senior officials in the Government and also  Privateorganisations. In 2002, Paddy was given the opportunity to move to the UAE as General Manager- Middle East to handle International Operations covering the GCC, Africa and Sri Lanka. He then moved to to Baer Capital Partners, an alternative asset management firm focused on private equity and a hedge fund, directing investments to India.

Paddy graduated in Physics with Distinction from Pune University and holds an MBA in Marketing from Indira Gandhi National Open University, India. He also has important certifications such as the AMFI certification (association of mutual funds of India) and CAIIB, (Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers) to his credit.

When he is not busy working on business plans, he enjoys reading, listening to music or Playing Badminton or Chess.
