Rick St. Onge has been the Program Manager / Examinations Chief of the Examinations Unit at the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions, Division of Consumer Services since July 2012. As the Examination Chief in Consumer Services, he oversees an examinations staff of 36 that conducts examinations of residential mortgage lenders and servicers, mortgage brokers, escrow agents, consumer finance companies, payday lenders, money transmitters, check casher and sellers, currency exchangers, and student education loan servicers. Prior to joining DFI in 2003, Rick was an owner/operator of a mortgage broker company and a mortgage banker. He has 30 plus years’ experience in the residential lending arena.
Rick served six and a half years on the Multi-State Mortgage Committee (MMC) and was the Chair in 2014. Rick was honored as the recipient of the 2016 Distinguished Service Award presented by the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators (AARMR).
Rick is the President of the Money Transmitter Regulators Association’s (MTRA) Board of Directors since 2017, he represents the MTRA on the NMLS Policy Committee.
