A spokesman for the White House announced last week that international travelers for non-essential activities would be welcome in the country with proof of full COVID -19 vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test within the previous 72 hours before their flight.
Measures will be adopted on November 8th to travel by air for worldwide travelers and land and sea (Ferry) along the US border. This way, those trying to enter the country from Canada and Mexico will be able to do so.
The CDC has informed airlines that the vaccines accepted are those approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the vaccines complying with the requirements of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the vaccines approved for emergency use by World Health Organization (WHO).
Here’s a list of COVID-19 vaccines accepted by FDA, CDC, and WHO for emergency use:
- Pfizer / BioNTech (Comirnaty)
- Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
- AstraZeneca / Oxford
- Modern
- Sinopharm
- Sinovac (CoronaVac)
The CDC plans to issue some guidelines on accepted tests and vaccines in the coming weeks.
